It\u2019s situated a few kilometres further on in the village of Oostrum. For travellers arriving at the station for the first time, this is a confusing experience, which is reinforced by the station architecture: a standard design of the railways, of which there are still dozens all over the Netherlands.<\/span><\/p><p class=\\\"Default\\\"><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">An architect, hired by the municipality for advice, said it as follows: \u00bbVenray S<\/span><span lang=\\\"FR\\\">tation <\/span><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">\u2018functions\u2019, but there\u2019s not much more than that.\u00ab<\/span><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\"><br \/><br \/><\/span><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">For the renovation of the station area, the municipality is consciously aiming for a green design: not architecture, but trees, plants and shrubs should prevail. Green architecture. On the one hand, to give the station a recognisable identity: where am I? But also to create an environment that radiates tranquillity and is comfortable for all kinds of travellers: students and tourists, but also birds and insects.<\/span><\/p><p class=\\\"Default\\\"><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\\\"Default\\\"><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">The plan for the renovation is designed by Karres en Brands and is already in an advanced stage. <\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\\\"Default\\\"><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">Nevertheless, there are still a number of open questions, and the architects would like to create extra space for artistic interventions. Works on the station will start in the first half of 2022 and completion is planned in 2023. So during Nieuwe Uitzichten there will mainly be a construction phase.<\/span><\/p>\",\r\n            \"type\": \"text\"\r\n          }\r\n        ]\r\n      },\r\n      \"classes\": \"singleindent\"\r\n    },\r\n    {\r\n      \"type\": \"text\",\r\n      \"cont\": \"<h2 class=\\\"_H2_Underlined\\\">Question<\/h2><p>In the dark, a station that consists mainly of greenery can also feel bare and unfriendly during dark winter nights: is there an intervention that can be devised, with light, smell, sound, for example, that responds to this?<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In line with the green architecture of the station, is there a way to make the route to the centre of Venray clearer? E.g. walking route?<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The growth of plants and trees takes some time; when a landscape design is completed, there is usually little to see: Is there a way to visualise the future growth of the area?<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Are there other ways in which greenery can play a role in the routing of passengers and visitors? Venray.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Karres+Brands are one of the leading offices for landscape architecture in the Netherlands and work often together with artists on their projects.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Station Venray occupies an interesting place in the Dutch language: because of the large psychiatric hospitals in Venray, \u201che\/she got a single ticket to Venray\u201d was for a long time synonymous with: he\/she is crazy.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\\\"_Default\\\">During the construction works, the station will remain open, which means that there is a a strange place, namely not in Venray. It\u2019s situated a few kilometres further on in the village of Oostrum. For travellers arriving at the station for the first time, this is a confusing experience, which is reinforced by the station architecture: a standard design of the railways, of which there are still dozens all over the Netherlands.<\/span><\/p><p class=\\\"Default\\\"><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">An architect, hired by the municipality for advice, said it as follows: \u00bbVenray S<\/span><span lang=\\\"FR\\\">tation <\/span><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">\u2018functions\u2019, but there\u2019s not much more than that.\u00ab<\/span><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\"><br \/><br \/><\/span><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">For the renovation of the station area, the municipality is consciously aiming for a green design: not architecture, but trees, plants and shrubs should prevail. Green architecture. On the one hand, to give the station a recognisable identity: where am I? But also to create an environment that radiates tranquillity and is comfortable for all kinds of travellers: students and tourists, but also birds and insects.<\/span><\/p><p class=\\\"Default\\\"><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\\\"Default\\\"><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">The plan for the renovation is designed by Karres en Brands and is already in an advanced stage. <\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\\\"Default\\\"><span lang=\\\"EN-US\\\">Nevertheless, there are still a number of open questions, and the architects would like to create extra space for artistic interventions. Works on the station will start in the first half of 2022 and completion is planned in 2023. E.g. walking route?<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The growth of plants and trees takes some time; when a landscape design is completed, there is usually little to see: Is there a way to visualise the future growth of the area?<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Are there other ways in which greenery can play a role in the routing of passengers and visitors?
